Ray Kurzweil – Remote Telepresence – AI For Good Conference
Charles River Media was thrilled to welcome back inventor, author, futurist, and AI visionary Ray Kurzweil to our Boston studio for his remote appearance at the United Nations AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva, Switzerland.
Rather than making the ~6,500 mile transatlantic trip to Geneva, Kurzweil joined the event through our studio’s broadcast-quality telepresence capabilities. With professional lighting, video, and audio in our controlled environment, experienced crew, and ultra-reliable broadcast infrastructure, our team helped ensure that his contribution felt seamless and fully integrated into the live program taking place thousands of miles away.
Charles River Media’s relationship with Kurzweil extends beyond remote speaking engagements. In the early 2000s, CRMi CEO Don Schechter worked as the second unit director along with the CRMi video and photo crew on Transcendent Man, a documentary by Barry Ptolemy chronicling Kurzweil’s life, ideas, and vision for the future. That longstanding connection made it especially meaningful to support him once again for this landmark appearance.
This appearance was especially memorable because it marked the unveiling of his AI twin, “RAI.” It was incredible to watch biological Ray engage in conversation with his AI avatar in front of an audience of more than 2,000 people gathered in Geneva.
From global conferences and executive panels to live broadcasts, keynote presentations, and hybrid events, our Boston broadcast studio gives speakers a dependable, professional way to contribute remotely without sacrificing production quality or audience impact.
