Ascendants is Charles River Media Group’s founder Don Schechter’s pet project. It’s a 2023 novel, a potential streaming series ready to be picked up with a pilot written and show bible ready to go, and the initial indie 4 episode web series (The “Ascendants Anthology”) produced as proof of concept that takes place during key historical moments of the main Ascendants timeline.  Confused by it all? The first film in the Ascendants Anthology premiered to a packed house at the Hollywood’s TCL Chinese Theater (Formerly Graumann’s Chinese Theatre) as part of the 2013 Hollyshorts Film Festival. The second episode, Ascendants: Raven, won Best Science Fiction at the Boston International Film Festival as well as an Honorable Mention at the Boston Sci-Fi Festival. Raven was also covered in the  Boston Globe. Installments of The Ascendants Anthology have also screened at The Independent Television and Film Festival, Hot Springs International Film Festival, The Philip K. Dick Film Festival, The Tri-Cities Film Festival,, Boston Comic Con, and NYCIFF-Fright Fest (with 5 Awards including Best Director and Best Horror Science Fiction TV Series.)
