Snyk DevSecCon 2025 Virtual Event Production Case Study
For DevSecCon 2025, Snyk needed to deliver a polished global virtual event that could bring together live and pre-recorded programming, professionally produced keynote content, remote speakers, multiple breakout tracks, and real-time audience engagement within one cohesive digital experience.
With programming spanning a mainstage and multiple breakout sessions, the event required more than a traditional webcast setup. Snyk needed a full-service virtual event production partner capable of managing video production, live streaming, show operations, platform development, and creative execution as one integrated workflow.
Charles River Media provided end-to-end production support for the event, from pre-recording speakers and developing a custom virtual set environment, to managing the live broadcast and building the complete event experience within Brandlive.
The Solution: End-to-End Virtual Event Production
Charles River Media developed a comprehensive production workflow that connected every component of DevSecCon 2025.
Our team provided:
- Virtual Event Platform build-out on Brandlive
- In-studio video production for keynote presentations on custom designed virtual sets
- Remote Recording through our virtual control room
- Run-of-show development and management
- Live streaming and broadcast production
- Mainstage production combining live and pre-recorded segments
- Multiple breakout tracks featuring pre-recorded presentations
- Live in-studio hosts and audience engagement
- Live DJ programming for the pre-show, breaks, and post-showtual sets
- Hype Reel Creation
By managing the technical, creative, and operational elements of the event together, Charles River Media helped create a consistent attendee experience from the moment viewers entered the virtual platform through the final live segment.
A Custom Virtual Set for the Product Keynote
One of the centerpiece moments of DevSecCon 2025 was Snyk’s major product keynote. The keynote was filmed on green screen at the Charles River Media studio, allowing our production and creative teams to place presenters inside a fully customized virtual environment in real-time using our live video control room infrastructure.
Our team designed a custom 3D virtual set in Cinema 4D based on the visual identity and branding of DevSecCon. The environment was designed to feel like an extension of the event itself. Colors, graphics, and visual elements followed the DevSecCon brand, helping the keynote feel integrated with the rest of the virtual conference rather than like a separate video asset.
Professional Remote Video Production for Global Speakers
A global virtual conference often involves presenters joining from many different locations. To maintain consistent production quality, Charles River Media used its virtual control room to remotely record speakers and presentations.
Instead of relying on presenters to independently record and submit their own videos, our production team could work with speakers in real time. This allowed us to provide technical guidance, monitor recording quality, troubleshoot issues, and help presenters feel comfortable throughout the session.
Using a combination of remote video production and in-studio recording, Snyk could include speakers regardless of location while maintaining a professional and consistent visual standard across DevSecCon content.
Building the Virtual Event Experience in Brandlive
As an official Brandlive partner and reseller, Charles River Media managed the Brandlive platform build-out for DevSecCon 2025. The virtual event environment included a central mainstage along with multiple breakout tracks. The mainstage combined professionally produced video content with live programming, creating a broadcast-style experience while still giving attendees access to deeper technical content through breakout sessions.
Because our team was responsible for both the live production workflow and the virtual event platform, we could coordinate the attendee experience directly with the show’s run of show. That included managing when content appeared, coordinating live and recorded segments, organizing breakout programming, and ensuring that the visual presentation of the platform complemented the branding of the broadcast.
For complex virtual conferences, integrating event platform production and live broadcast production under one team can significantly reduce friction between the technical and creative sides of the event.
Live Hosts Connected the Broadcast With the Audience
Although much of DevSecCon’s presentation content was pre-recorded, the overall event was designed to retain the energy and spontaneity of a live experience.
Two hosts joined the broadcast live from the Charles River Media studio and served as the connective thread throughout the mainstage program. The hosts opened and closed segments, introduced programming, guided attendees through transitions, and responded directly to conversations happening within the event’s live chat.
By referencing comments and activity from attendees, the hosts brought the virtual audience into the broadcast itself. This helped transform the experience from a series of online presentations into a shared live event where attendees could see that their participation was influencing what was happening on screen.
A Live DJ Kept the Energy Going
A live DJ provided another layer of audience engagement throughout DevSecCon.
Music was incorporated into the pre-show, program breaks, and post-show, creating energy before presentations began and keeping the event active during transitions. Rather than sending viewers to a static holding screen between sessions, DevSecCon maintained the atmosphere of a live production.
The Result: One Cohesive Global Virtual Event
DevSecCon 2025 brought together multiple production formats within a single branded virtual experience.
Charles River Media supported Snyk across the full event production lifecycle, including pre-production, studio and remote recording, virtual set creation, run-of-show management, platform development, live streaming, and live broadcast production.
By placing those responsibilities with one production partner, Snyk could create a more consistent experience across its keynote presentations, breakout sessions, live hosts, entertainment, and virtual event platform. The result was a global digital conference designed to feel cohesive, polished, interactive, and genuinely live.
