Charles River Media is proud to have partnered with Monotype for both internal and external video communications since 2020. For this project, Monotype was looking to increase the production value of their annual Type Trends live stream, and we were happy to assist! We helped transform what had traditionally been a webcam and slide deck Zoom webinar into a studio-quality broadcast production. The show consisted of pre-recorded presentations followed by a live Q&A session with the host and presenters. To help expand the reach of this event, we ran the show twice to accommodate different time zones. One show ran in the morning and the second show ran in the afternoon.

The presentations were recorded in Monotype’s London office as well as our Boston area studio. To keep a cohesive visual feel between the London and Boston presentations, we captured images in the London office to use as a virtual green screen set in our Boston studio.

On the day of the program, we utilized our Boston broadcast studio to create the show that was streamed live to the Zoom Webinar platform. The in-studio host presented in a fully branded environment using our green screen technology. The two remote contributors joined the panel via Zoom. It was exciting to see all the comments and questions flowing in via the chat and Q&A module. We loved the sense of community that was created by following #TypeTrendsWebinar on Instagram where online viewers posted photos of them participating in the event.
